Reducing Aging Impacts in Digital Sensors via Run-Time Calibration

چکیده

Hazards or intentional perturbations must be identified in safety- and security-critical applications. Digital sensors have been shown to an appealing approach detect such abnormalities. However, as any sensor technology, digital are prone mis-calibration. In particular, even if the initial calibration is correct, rate of false missed alarms might increase when aged. this paper, we thoroughly study impact aging-induced alarms. Indeed aging relates usage time, a priori model (historical data for environmental variation) predicting unrealistic tracking time with related temperature voltage variation imposes high overhead. Accordingly, propose alternative where not one but two deployed. practice, used deviations, while second reference. respect, only operated seldom, mostly re-calibrate active From dual input (unaged aged sensor), corrective models derived. Reducing Code Size with Run-Time Decompression

Compressed representations of programs can be used to improve the code density in embedded systems. Several hardware decompression architectures have been proposed recently. In this paper, we present a method of decompressing programs using software. It relies on using a softwaremanaged instruction cache under control of the decompressor. This is achieved by employing a simple cache management ...

AVR054: Run-time calibration of the internal RC oscillator

• Calibration of internal RC oscillator via UART • Synchronization/ calibration to within +/-2% of target frequency with a single synch-byte. • Alternate run-time synchronization/calibration to within +/-1% of target frequency with double synch-byte. • Support for all AVRs with tunable RC oscillator • 50% duty cycle required for correct synchronization/ calibration. • Enables robust UART commun...

Unsupervised Intrinsic Calibration of Depth Sensors via SLAM

We present a new, generic approach to the calibration of depth sensor intrinsics that requires only the ability to run SLAM. In particular, no specialized hardware, calibration target, or hand measurement is required. Essential to this approach is the idea that certain intrinsic parameters, identified here as myopic, govern distortions that increase with range. We demonstrate these ideas on the...

Reducing the Run-time Complexity of Support Vector Machines

The Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a new and promising technique for classiication and regression, developed by V. Vapnik and his group at AT&T Bell Labs 2, 9]. The technique can be seen as a new training algorithm for Polynomial, Radial Basis Function and Multi-Layer Perceptron networks. SVMs are currently considered slower at run-time than other techniques with similar generalization perform...

Techniques for Reducing the Overhead of Run-Time Parallelization

Current parallelizing compilers cannot identify a significant fraction of parallelizable loops because they have complex or statically insufficiently defined access patterns. As parallelizable loops arise frequently in practice, we have introduced a novel framework for their identification: speculative parallelization. While we have previously shown that this method is inherently scalable its p...
